Modding Notes |
NOTES: These are notes I've gathered through my own study of the WITP:AE modding forum, the documentation that came with the game, and judicious study of the statistics in the game against real world weapon statistics.

WITPLOAD AE Extraction Assistant Put this together in about 10 minutes to help me in extracting the stock scenarios, without having to continuously refer to this page. Download the following ZIP file (LINK), extract it to your \SCEN folder and run WITP_Extract.bat from there You should see something like this:

Naval Gun Design
Effect: Weight of the projectile in pounds, or an adjusted number to allow high ROF/low shell weight weapons in the game without making them lasers that always hit their targets.
Accuracy: Rate of fire of the weapon multiplied by 10; to a limit. Anything beyond 27 RPM has special rules applied.
EXAMPLE: The US 16”/50 Mark 7 has a rate of fire of 2; thus it's accuracy is 20.
Anti-Aircraft Rating: Effect Divided by Two.
Special Rules: If the rate of fire exceeds 27 RPM, or the shell weight is lower than 1 pound; adjust it based on the weight of fire per minute.
EXAMPLE: The US 3”/50 Mark 27 Post-War Anti Aircraft Mount – this fires a 13 lb shell at a rate of 50 RPM for a total broadside of 650 pounds per minute. If we assume a rate of fire of 27 RPM (270 accuracy); then the effect of each shell becomes: 650 Lb Throw Weight / 27 RPM = 24 Effect.
Thus the 3”/50 Mark 27 would have an effect of 24 and an accuracy of 270.
This is based off the highest accuracy rating for a gun in the game being the Soviet 45mm/46 AA Gun with a rating of 270.
ASW Weapon Design
Range: How deep it can go.
Effect: How heavy the warhead is in pounds.
Accuracy (Depth Charges): Sink rate in feet per second
Accuracy (Ahead Throwing Contact Weapons with 10 or less projectiles):
Sink Rate x (Number of Projectiles/2)
Accuracy (Ahead Throwing Contact Weapons with 11 or more projectiles):
Sink Rate x (Number of Projectiles/3)
Accuracy (Ahead Throwing Timed Weapons):
Sink Rate x 4
Load Cost: Weight of the weapon in pounds.
Torpedo Design
Penetration: How heavy the warhead is in pounds.
Effect: How heavy the warhead is in pounds.
Range is in kiloyards, rounded to the nearest whole number; e.g. a 6,500 yard torpedo would have a range of 7.
Accuracy is the speed of the torpedo in knots.
Load Cost: Weight of the weapon in pounds.
