CA-122
USS Oregon City

Launched: 9 June 1945
Commissioned 16 February 1946
Decommissioned 15 December 1947
Stricken: 1 November 1970, sold for scrap on 17 August 1973

A throwaway line in one of Norman Freidman's U.S. Design histories notes: “she was apparently defective; she was the only one of the three modified Baltimores to be decommissioned virtually upon completion, and she was never rebuilt as a missile ship.”

She was twice considered for missile conversion, and in both examples, turned down.

Primary Source files I have located in search of any possible problems with CA-122 are below. All are PDF scanned images; and they are arranged chronologically.
